Professor Booth Speaks On Chinese Bankruptcy Law

On December 4, Charles Booth spoke about “The Development of Bankruptcy Law and Insolvency Infrastructures in China” at the Update on Bankruptcy Law and Restructuring Environment in China, Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors, (AIRA), Los Angeles Seminar.

Charles co-drafted and presented the Third Draft Report on the Treatment of Insolvency of Natural Persons to the World Bank Meeting of the Insolvency and Creditor/Debtor Regimes Task Force Working Group on the Treatment of the Insolvency of Natural Persons, in Washington, DC, on December 13-14. He chaired a session relating to creditors, exemptions, and home mortgages.

A report Charles co-drafted for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development  (EBRD), “The Special Study–Legal Transition Programme Review” is available online.

PALS Professores present at the Center for Asia-Pacific Exchange

Charles Booth and Carole J. Petersen spoke about “Hong Kong Since 1997: Resilience During 15 Years of Extraordinary Change, 23rd Language and Culture Seminar,” at the Center for Asia-Pacific Exchange on November 12.

Charles also was a member of a four-person team that assisted an Evaluation Department review of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Legal Transition Programmes from 2001 to 2010. The EBRD’s recent online publication “Special Study—Legal Transition Programme Review” lists 30 legal reform and advisory projects in Armenia, Hungary, Mongolia, Russia and Serbia.
